Do you want the unexpected in New York? Explore the Bowery, chic hotels, emerging designers, stay up til 4 and dine on steak (when you don’t even eat meat.) Not a spa vacation.
Venerable Restaurants: They have sustainability for a reason (and you still can’t get in!)
IL Buco – Resembles a European Country Home on Bond Street. Part Italian, part Spanish, so romantic. Descend into the wine cellar for the ultimate experience. A great date is needed.
Raoul –Frenetic, crowded, loud, & bustling. Broaden your friendship circle and sit on your neighbor’s lap at this French bistro, dine on signature steak poivre and maneuver carefully (especially after a couple of glasses of wine) up the circular staircase for a personal tarot card reading. Now all you have to do is remember what was predicted.
Minetta Tavern – The West Village is the ultimate hot spot. Happening, buzzing, comfort food, and great service. Tell Michael we sent you (or don’t; we won’t be able to get in.)
What does a black door, a bunny, and fire escape stairs have in common?
Hidden Bars: The entrance to 124 Old Rabbit Club a very, very hidden gritty bar in the West Village. It’s a gem, how could a bar with a large rabbit on the wall miss?
Bathtub Gin – No! espresso is not served as you enter the 1920’s style speakeasy through the coffee shop. Try getting past the bouncer first. The piece de resistance – the copper bathtub for two. Climb in, just remember not to turn on the water!!!
St Regis Bar – Dress up and enter a very sophisticated world with martinis filled to the brim. Romantic, elegant and filled with businessmen. Always a good choice.
A Girls Got to Dress…
Shopping – Check out the new Alexander Wang & Monika Chang stores in Soho. Don’t miss the newly opened Stella McCartney flagship store. Travel to the West Village for Jean Michel Cazabat reasonably priced highly styled shoes. Secret Tip – visit NY in January when everything is 70% off.
Sleep – Stay at the Gansevoort Park on 29th & Park with the de rigor rooftop pool, champagne bar and people watching. Check out the luxurious Trump SoHo, voted best new business hotel (that means men are there, girls) cool rooms, indoor & outdoor pool with cocktail lounge, library lounge with fireplace & wine cellar.
