Bishops Lodge Resort & Spa -Rich with history, a 450 acre retreat used to be the home of the first Arch Bishop, (some humble abode!) Surrounded by natural forests offering horseback riding, mountain biking, & hiking only minutes away from town. Don’t miss the spa & hot stone massage. This premiere resort is a perfect family getaway. Not a getaway from the kids.

Inn of the Five Graces  Minutes away from the plaza, hidden in an historic neighborhood that seems worlds away. Named one of  the 10 most intimate places to stay. This highly designed (think crafts & antiques from India & Tibet) romantic hotel – part of the Relais & Chateau Group. Hacienda del Cerezo  For something completely different, this hacienda is an oasis of luxury situated 12 miles from town. Most Stylish: Fuego – new stylish kid in town. Iron chandeliers, excellent service, great wine list, traditional southwestern cuisine in a hacienda. Geranimo, a reprieve with wonderful continental food. A must.

 

What2Buy 

Cowboy boots of course!  Back at the Ranch  largest retailer of custom cowboy boots in the world ( that’s a tall order) and visit Double Take – not just a vintage, consignment, western, folk art, pottery store but a destination. Fit in a visit between shopping for art, turquoise and silver.

Where2Play

Cowgirl Home of Fame: Love the name. The bar is the dining room. Great hangout, sit outside, go for happy hour! After that you need a visit to Ten Thousand Waves internationally known Japanese style mountain spa & retreat. Clothes optional communal tub, Japanese facials & massages, you can even stay there if you are lulled to sleep!

What2Do

Canyon Road – The art center of the world w/ over 100 galleries ( we need more walls), iconic Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, world famous operas, immerse yourself in the unique Pueblo culture & don’t miss the drive to Taos. Make reservations now for July (see above) when everything is happening. The Wine Festival, The Rodeo (studs and cowboys, girls), Jazz Festival and The International Folk Art Market! How cool is all that!
