The Single One

How many is too many? A wife, a girlfriend, an ex-wife. Who is still in the picture when you are dating? Hopefully not all three, but plausible. Are the men we date ever really unattached? And if they are, how does a 30-year-old bachelor sound to you? Which is worse, the eternal bachelor or the guy still looped in with some former partners? What are the chances of ever meeting someone really available – when you are both unattached at the same time? That is why dating out of the zip code has its merits.

The Married One

Do I look relaxed? Happy?  Content?  Is marriage good for your mental health?  Studies say it is.  You live longer, you’re less stressed, less depressed and so is he.  Why is that?  You have a captive audience for complaining, he has to compliment you or else no sex (sexual leverage), you always have a date for New Years;  he can fix your computer!  So why is he happier?  You cook for him (does shopping at Whole Foods count?), you increase his mileage account and you’re always there…so why wouldn’t he be happy?
