Mandarin Oriental San Francisco, known primarily as a mid week business hotel, transforms on weekends when computers are packed up, iced vodka begins, and then romance ensues. Splurge on a Golden Gate or Bay Bridge Mandarin King Room, enjoy the view from your bathtub immersed in bubbles. The higher the floor, the better the view.

Or you could swing in a mink hammock if you didn’t want to splash in the hotel tub. Installing a home hammock could be bundled with romance!

If you’re traveling a bit South stay at Carmel Valley Ranch. A larger property doesn’t equal less romance. Bigger can be better.  Recently renovated, all suites have private decks, fireplaces and hiking trails which makes for a perfect escape.  An added plus…its close proximity to quaint Carmel.
